Here are some comments from the people that have used our services or their families.
The transport provided through Continuing Care during my recent illness immeasurably improved my life. The organisation was superb. The drivers were unfailingly attentive and friendly. I cannot express how grateful I am for the help given.
Thank you for this service. Mr Kerr was so kind and helpful to my husband. We have used your service twice and are most grateful to all the helpers. It is such a relief not to worry about hospital journeys. Our best wishes to all
The charity has been a life line for my dad who has dementia. Fiona came to visit my dad and myself to find out what dads interest were before finding someone he would feel comfortable with in his own home. He now has a wonderful lady who visits once a week for a chat and a coffee. Dad really looks forward to these visits which is important for him as he doesn't go out much.
To the befriending team thank you, you do an amazing job.
As a grateful user of this excellent service over several years, I would be in a difficult position getting to and from hospital as I am unable to use public transport. Long may this service continue!
Fiona - the lady that organises the runs - and all the drivers are extremely helpful
I have used this service several times and would like to recommend it highly. Fiona arranges the transport efficiently - she has a friendly manner and always makes sure that even emergency requests are catered for. I know who will take me, time of pickup and cost of journey when booking is arranged.
The drivers are always punctual, pleasant and helpful. They not only drive one to hospital but walk or wheelchair one to the correct clinic. This is a well run, excellent service and feel very lucky that it is available. Long may it continue.
I am very happy with everything they do for us, between getting drivers at short notice and good service.
I will not go past them.
I was given the name of Continuing Care Service N/E Fife over a year ago. After I contacted them, the Coordinator, Fiona, came to my home to see me and explain how the service works and told me about the volunteers. Having that first contact made me feel very comfortable with the idea of having them provide transportation for me to my medical appointments. Since then, I've had 3 wonderful volunteers who now take me to my hospital appointments. While I don't enjoy going to hospital appointments, I very much enjoy my time with each of my volunteer drivers. They are like friends to me now and I really like visiting with them when we go. Each one of them go into the hospital with me and are there in the waiting room when I am finished and then get me back to the car. I really like the fact that they don't just drop me off. Once I get home, they make sure I get in the door before they leave. Fiona is excellent at making arrangements when I give her appointment dates and gets back to me quickly with the names of who will be taking me. She does her best to make sure I have a driver that I know. I appreciate that.
I dreaded having to stop driving, but have discovered that with the support that the Continuing Care Service N/E Fife provides to me, I'm not isolated and have a good way to get where I need to go. I'm so happy that I have them.
Having used the Continuing Care Service for the past few years, I have been absolutely delighted with the wonderful service given.
Very courteous and understanding of peoples needs. Highly recommended.
You very kindly helped my Dad get to his hospital appointment. Gavin who took my Dad was brilliant and the whole experience cheered him up! Best wishes and Thanks!
Thank you and the Continuing Care Service for all the support you gave my Mum. I know she enjoyed her time with Trish and the others. What is less recognised is the help to me, the main carer. Many thanks and best wishes.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all your help. Your volunteers Jean, Gavin and Isobel were very caring and helpful to Mum. Many Thanks.
